A wonderful stay, a real...

Liked: From the moment we arrived all the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.Although this is an old building it is beautifully maintained and has a character that so many modern hotels do not. Our room was on the third floor and thankfully there is a lift, a great benefit now we?re getting a bit older! The weather was bitterly cold but every part of the hotel was warm especially our room which was very comfortable.I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Hull but especially if you are going to The New Theatre as it is just across the square, barely a hundred yards walk.
Disliked: We would prefer a bigger bed and will pay a little more for an upgraded room next time, still good value for money.

Liked: The welcome, service and support from staff was amazing. Our room was comfortable and spacious and we were upgraded at no extra cost following a mix up in extending our booking. I love the location. It is in a quiet, peaceful haven in the city close to the New Hull Theatre and an easy walk to the city centre. Meals were freshly made and tasty. Reliable wifi. Complimentary parking for residents.
Disliked: The hotel is a little old fashioned but perfectly comfortable. I would have liked fresh sourdough bread available; and also feather pillows and down duvets in the suite rooms.

I would stay again, in...

Liked: The breakfast was very good and all of the staff we dealt with were very pleasant and helpful. The place was very clean.
Disliked: We were given an 'upgrade' to a room which was outside the main building. This room was large and gloomy and cold - so cold that I had to put my coat on at night as the heating went off at night. I did bring this to the attention of the hotel and they gave us an electric radiator to help with the problem and a 50% refund for the inconvenience. To be honest, I didn't like having to get wrapped up in a coat and hat etc to go to breakfast so didn't really see the 'upgrade' as a bonus.
