Disliked: No breakfast wasn't told till we arrived, garden pic was across the road from park,noisy outside room and only 1 bath in hotel

A total mess, we ended...

Liked: Staff were very attentive and helpful.Great location.Breakfast was great.
Disliked: Family room was not suitable for a family, sofa bed was uncomfortable and tiny, mattress was very thin and bed stank.2 tvs in the room but only one worked properly, no aerial for one of the tvs so couldn’t watch it and internet kept turning off.The room upstairs that my daughter had, room 8, bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly, I managed to shut it by pushing it when I was in the bathroom and luckily my daughter was the other side as the latch and door handle were broken and I couldn’t get out! Door handle only worked the bedroom side, I dread to think what would have happened if my daughter had been in there on her own and shut the door!!! There is no way this wasn’t known and maintenance should be sacked. Very dangerous.

Liked: Location is central to the town square (within 5 minutes walk) Warm reception upon arrival, Friendly staff and atmosphere, rooms comfortable and clean.Car parking is limited however.

Liked: When we booked we thought they had disable access but when we tried to book in we were told that we had not booked a ground floor room and that they did not have disable access but we had. Anyway the manager sorted it We had a ground floor room as i have mobility problems and use a small scooter that folds up to the size of a suitcase and the staff were extremely helpful and carried it in and out every morning and back in to reception for me every time, the staff explained that access is planed for the side door soon. The view from our room was of Kings park what an amazing park so well looked after. This used to be an old police station still has cells at the back of the kitchen still with names scratched on to the back of the doors they have an amazing space at the back that used to be the garage could be used for a small functions hall if it was done up. Anyway back to the room it was very comfortable with free WiFi old fashion window some one made a remark that the could not be secured but the locks are there on the bottom half of the top window
Disliked: Breakfast choice was very poor, it was a limited continental but there was no cold cuts, cheese, fresh pastry there was a small choice of pastry still in plastic wrapper, there was a selection of porridge pots but no boiling water you had to ask a staff member for boiling water the dining room was clean and the staff were very helpful the choice of evening dinner was extremely limited to a very small choice of curry or potato wedges and a few other choices but i do have to say though that the curry was very nice. The staff explained that the bar and dinning room had only been open since April this year and that changes are coming to both the bar and dinning menu i think they need to do these changes as soon as they can we went out most mornings for breakfast as there are a lot of cafes a short distance from the hotel so if you are looking for a FE breakfast that's where to go
