Basic, dated and overpriced

Liked: Great location but that’s all unfortunately
Disliked: Poor stay!The chair had no cushion to it anymore, the bed wasn’t comfy, the remote for the tv didn’t have any batteries in so I had to go to reception for some, our room was located at the top of some fire steps and passed the bins. The smell outside was unpleasant. Someone set the fire alarm off early Saturday morning and no communication from staff what to do. The shower was like a juggling act to not getting scolded or freeze! The room itself needed updating and for just under £300 a night it was not worth staying there. People singing and music blaring until late and then other guests waking us up shouting at 3:45am! Even the prices at the bar were overpriced, just over £14 for a Guinness and a cider but across the road at the White Hart it was just over £10.Whilst we were there we debating leaving however as it was the July Cup at the racing all hotels were fully booked. Unfortunately we wouldn’t stay again.

Exceptional

Impossible dream Hotel

Liked: The reception and restaurant area as we'd been often, that's why I chose the Hotel
Disliked: There was extremely loud music that reverberated through the whole building, including accommodation, The toilet seat was dirty as was one bed sheet....sleep was impossible I'd like my money back plus compensation as I had to leave and find a quieter hotel

Liked: Central to Newmarket
Disliked: Tired run down rooms with strange key system. The room was dated with a noisy fridge in the corner. Pictures don’t match the reality. Jockey club is lots nicer and when I stayed was actually less expensive than this place

Liked: Very handy Location & parking on site.Lovely bar and dining areas, inside & out.Very friendly and helpful staff.Centre of townNice bathroom & shower.
Disliked: Room was quite small and not much room for cases.

Poor

Night in Newmarket

Liked: Air con in the rooms was excellent as were all of the "self catering" items, fridge, microwave, plates and so on
Disliked: Nothing, all good

Very good
