Kings Hotel

Enjoyed our stay and would stay again, but would request that our room is not downstairs in the basement

Liked: Friendly staff; good breakfast; nice, clean room.
Disliked: Someone, possibly a hotel guest, opened a fire exit door at 6a.m. which set an alarm off right outside our room. Our room was in the basement so we didn't have a good view and the room was overlooked from the street above.

Good value stay, except if...

Liked: Great location, friendly staff and request for specific room was accommodated.It is a ‘you get what you pay for’, but there’s nothing wrong with that!
Disliked: We stayed in the same room nearly a year ago and reported a couple of maintenance issues. They hadn’t been fixed on this visit.Biggest gripe is the dog-friendly aspect. This hotel charges £30 for a dog to stay, which is the highest of the Brighton prices I’ve seen. However, the room wasn’t deep cleaned and still smelt of ‘dog’; not massively but enough to be noticeable. Also, many of the other dog friendly hotels in Brighton offer something for the dog, ie a bed, bowls, even treats. For £30, you get nothing at all. I’m not sure how that fee can be justified.

Liked: Nice clean hotel right on the sea front, very comfy beds.
Disliked: Could do with power showers to replace the weak small shower head and breakfast to maybe offer more cooked items such as sausage and a variety of eggs, mushrooms, beans

Liked: Attractive building on the seafront. Great restaurant, bar etc Friendly atmosphere and staff.
Disliked: Nothing I can think of.
