Disliked: Rooms desperately need updating. Ours had a terrible musty smell. The shower was tiny with zero water pressure and we were unable to control the water temperature. Was impossible to wash hair. Mice running around the courtyard.

If this is the cheapest...

Liked: We didn’t like the closeness to a rough area but did like that it wasn’t a really long walk to the city center with many iconic spots to see.
Disliked: We were very frustrated that the hotel had parking but didn’t realize you had to reserve parking before the day of arrival. That should just be more clearly stated in bolder print of something, we also found it difficult to understand which parking was the correct one close by if you couldn’t use the hotel parking. The hotel parking was 19 euros and the other one suggested by hotel staff was more than double that price. I had to circle around 6 times before really understanding where we should park. The hotel staff said that the parking was on the same side of the street as the hotel but that was inaccurate. It was actually enter on the opposite side. I was very frustrated also that we had 2 hotel staff at the desk yet they made us use a difunctional computer check in. It kept not letting me check in with last name. I finally tried my first name Joshua as last name and it worked. This would have been extremely frsutrating if nobody was around . Ultimately the hotel is not far from city center and the beds were comfortable.

Perfect hotel stay

Liked: We stayed in 6 hotels on this trip and King’d has been our favourite. First, staff are very helpful and friendly. This is a big plus for anyone coming from the friendliest country - Scotland. Second, it was very clean. General cleanliness is very important to my wife and she found King’s very clean. The bedding and towels were spotless and smelled very nice. We really liked the ‘facilities’ room on the 1st floor where you can get extra towels and toiletries. Coffee and tea can be made in the reception area and we liked to relax there with a cup of hot drink. It’s also very close to the main train station and 20 min walk from city center.
Disliked: The bathroom is very, very small. It’s literally the size of a train toilet. We aren’t very big people otherwise it would have been very difficult to fit in the shower! Also, the ‘free minibar’ that’s advertised is a non-functioning fridge with two water bottles that aren’t replenished. The fridge didn’t work and our drinks remained annoyingly at room temperature. Pillows were also insignificant as others have also noted. These were the only minor inconveniences.
