Nice stay in Cirencester but...
Liked: The room was spacious with large bathroom
Disliked: The hotel is going through some upgrades. The front facade has scaffolding up and has been repainted. The dining room has been relocated to the roof terrace inside and out.The facilities are nice on a sunny day outside. Inside the room was tired and looked like a cafeteria with sticky tables no cloths the breakfast was good but the continental breakfast was poor compared to our last stay. The staff tried their best but they were understaffed and young with no training.

The hotel was great for...
Liked: Location was great right in the centre and although the hotel has no parking long stay car park wasn’t to far
Disliked: The hotel is tired and although it is being refuted still felt grumpy. The receptionist we dealt with was very curt and direct not friendly. When i asked if i would be able to upgrade our roomhappy to pay she gave a direct flat no we’re full answer which wasn’t true as suites were available but had no air con when i challenged her. Porter kept us waiting 10mins when we arrived at hotel that night apologised but didn’t say why we had to continuously ring the number which kept going through to different departments but there was no one to actually speak to. Waited 1 hour for breakfast on the first day only one waiter for the whole restaurant. Little things but could have been easily avoided.

Disliked: Receptionist didn’t t seem to know what she was doing with the rooms booked ,we had booked breakfast and then when we turned up in the restaurant was told we hadn’t t. Also they couldn’t t activate the room card had to back to reception numerous times. Good job for the nice lad on reception Think the staff on reception need some training. We had the king suite only one patio chair to sit outside too. A

Very nice location and room....
Liked: The location right in the center of the village and the King Suite was big and comfortable
Disliked: 1. At the reception they didn’t tell me the room was facing the scaffolding that means that, on a working day, we could have people walking in front of us. For this there was no view or possibility to open the window2. We went up to the terrace for dinner. The lady was quite rude in telling us there were no tables on the terrace. She gave us the menu coming back after 15 minutes and when ready to order she said they ran out of almost all food (pizza, steak etc…) so we left and we could leave earlier if been told in advance instead of forgetting about us with no water or attention3. Check out took forever as there was only one person and a ling queue

Disappointed
Liked: Bedroom was clean
Disliked: Where do I start. Suite didn’t have aircon. Didn’t send fan to room. Staff in the bar accused my partner of taking pictures of receipts. Very strange in a busy bar. Totally unacceptable. Defamation of character. GM apologised. This issue will be taken further. Breakfast was 55 min wait service very poor at breakfast and bar

Perfect for us
Liked: Lovely rooms, we stayed as a group and each room was perfect, including the disabled room. The staff were incredible. The breakfast was delicious. Great location.
Disliked: The only issue was that we stayed during the renovation and I wish we had chance to experience all the facilities.

Ignorant hotel

Disliked: DisgracefulJul 2025 • CouplesWe very recently stayed at this hotel for the evening, whilst on a visit to Cirencester Gloucestershire. Upon arriving at reception, there was a small sign, that said the bar area/ dining area would be closed, as it was undergoing refurbishment untill mid September.Where as the room was fine, what the receptionist didn't mention, is that you get woken up up at just gone 7am, by the most horrific banging, and drilling, so loud in fact, that the room literally " shook" it was actually like an " earthquake"'. 4 hours that went onfor, check out was at 11am! | brought the matter up with the same receptionist, as I found it unbelievable that we were not warned about this, £250 we paid for that ridiculous experience. I have sent emails to the hotel, which have been completely and utterly ignored, requesting a refund, or even a partial refund for what we were subjected to after paying all that money. I have heard nothing back. If you are thinking of staying in Cirencester, I would Absolutley avoid this hotel. As the building work is going on to mid September, and we weren't warned about this, so it's only right we pass on this information to others. I have sent video evidence of this to the hotel, and they have not even had the courtesy to respond.
