Liked: Liked the venue itself, really pretty outside and I like the interior of the building, so I was looking forward to a relaxed stay there. I know the food from experience (as I am local) is good and I enjoyed my breakfast. Staff were friendly
Disliked: The room looked tired. It was VERY noisy with pub guests- people were talking (very loudly as the evening wore on) outside my window from the moment I arrived at 6pm until they were moved inside at 11pm. Then at about 11.30/midday other guests came back to their rooms, and the heavy doors were loudly left to slam quite a few times int eh space of 45 minutes or so. In the morning at about 8am the talking outside the room began again. I wasn't asked how my stay was when I checked out, so I didn't express any of this as it felt perhaps like they knew or didn't care.

Disliked: 1 of the 2 wall mounted radiators in my room did not work.room wasn’t warm enough. Smallest, most expensive sausage roll ever.

Liked: The room was large and the food in the restaurant was delicious
Disliked: The carpet is old, holes in it, stained. The lampshades look moth eaten. Bed was lumpy on one side with deep round crevice in one part. The towels are grey from wash but supposed to be white.

Disliked: there is a fish smell in the stair well and corridors and whilst i appreciate that the rooms are close to the kitchen, its quite unpleasant and they need something to neutralise this.bathroom whilst large could do with updating as the sink didn't have space for toiletries and you need to be a contortionist to reach the toilet paper

Liked: Staff - led by duty manager James - were all helpful and professional, excellent.Breakfast was excellent
Disliked: struggled with the bed, and lack of headboard.

Very good

Liked: The breakfast range is excellent and cooked by a chef in front of you.
Disliked: The parking is an issue. Its quite a long walk to the multi-storey car park and, although possible, overnight parking is a bother.
