overall pretty disappointing and wouldn't...

Liked: The room was lovely, gym facilities were good.
Disliked: We requested numerous times for an early checking. I understand this can never be confirmed but as the hotel felt quiet we were hopeful it could be accommodated. We had a 30th celebration to attend at 2:30 and we arrived at 1:30pm I understand this is 90 minutes before check in time but we had to get ready in the gym changing rooms (which was fine) and then leave our bags at reception. Even just as we left for the meal the room still hadn't been managed to be prepared for us so we didn't actually see the room until around midnight when we got back. I booked a spa treatment for the next morning and was notified by a knock on the door an hour before that the therapist hadn't shown in for work and they were unable to carry out the treatment. I wonder why she didn't show after a bank holiday Sunday? Doesn't leave much to the imagination. As I say I am aware that early check ins are just a request but for the price point, the fact the place felt quiet and our explanation it would have been great for this to have been accommodated it made the situation in getting ready difficult. When we used the gym facility on the Monday morning there was no staff member in there so when I wanted to order a protein shake from the counter I was unable to.

Liked: Staff were so lovely and friendly. They'd left a sweet treat in my birthday which was a nice touch. Room very clean and bath next to the bed was ideal. Close to restaurants and bars.
