The Spotlight on King Street Townhouse

Historic Charm Meets Modern Luxury at King Street Townhouse

Modern comfort wrapped in historic elegance, King Street Townhouse is a boutique hotel in the heart of Manchester, just a short stroll from major music venues and lively nightlife. Set in a grand Italian renaissance building, this hotel blends original character with contemporary design, offering stylish rooms, a rooftop infinity spa pool, and an acclaimed on-site restaurant.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and King Street Townhouse couldn’t be better placed — only about five minutes’ walk from key downtown hotspots and major venues. After a night of music, the rooftop spa pool and relaxation room are perfect for unwinding. Thanks to its solid historic walls, rooms are impressively quiet, making it easy to recharge after a late night. Flexible check-in from 15:00 and a relaxing 11:00 check-out gives guests extra breathing room.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish base near the action
  • Solo travelers seeing a bucket-list artist and wanting a safe, central stay
  • Couples making a weekend getaway of their concert experience
  • Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space with a spa twist
  • Budget-conscious music fans willing to splurge a little for location and luxury

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Tavern Restaurant and Bar offers a mouthwatering seasonal menu and classic favorites, perfect for a pre-show dinner or a post-gig late bite. Although there’s no 24/7 room service, the lounge serves delightful afternoon tea and light bites. Plenty of trendy eateries and bars are within easy walking distance if you're craving something different after hours.

Nightlife Options

While King Street Townhouse itself is more about refined relaxation than roaring nightlife, you’re mere minutes from Manchester’s bustling Deansgate bar scene and iconic live music spots. The hotel’s cozy bar is a great place to sip local craft beers or a fine wine before heading out.

What People Say

Guests rave about the stunning rooftop spa with its heated infinity pool, the luxurious bed comfort, and the impeccable, friendly service. Many highlight the unbeatable central location and the beautifully restored historic building as major plus points.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests have noted that, due to its popularity, the rooftop spa can get busy at peak times. Also, while breakfast is delicious, it isn’t included in all room rates—so plan ahead if you’re counting pennies.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers seeking stylish comfort, a prime Manchester location, and a little post-show pampering, King Street Townhouse is a top-tier choice.

Probably wouldn’t return unless they...

Liked: Location was good
Disliked: Was a bit overpriced for the standard of room. Lots of stains on carpets and could defo do with a refurb. We spent a lot £££ on 2 nights. We also booked a massage which was £180 each (not a very good massage) and they tried charging us £20 per person extra to use the sauna etc. until I said I would cancel my massage as I thought it was ridiculous that we would be charged extra after spending almost £400 on 2 massages. Shame really as I wanted to stay here for a while now.

Pleasant

Liked: Hotel was nice with friendly staff, pool was great.
Disliked: Unable to open a window in the room and felt dark not much light. Parking was nightmare for us, we paid alot of money to park in nearby car park (China town) as hotel doesn't have its own, then got parking tickets both days not sure why but resulted in us paying around £100 to stay at the hotel. Also had to pay a small fee to visit Manchester? Very expensive stay over all.
