Absolute waste of money

Liked: I was told upon check-in that I had been upgraded from a single to a double room. The bed was comfortable. The staff member at check out was lovely and very polite.
Disliked: Staff member at check-in was abrupt. My room was at the very top. No offer of help with bags (no lift either!). Room was sickly hot and felt like I couldn't breath. There was a table fan but it didn't bring the temperature down sufficiently. It was also a noisy fan.. Had to keep it on all night to reduce the temperature, so quality sleep was not an option. This was made worse by slamming of doors, people shouting and running up and down the stairs made for a very poor experience. The kettle gauge was yellow....I daren't attempt to make a brew. There was no remote for the TV so couldn't watch it. The ceiling window wouldn't open, so only had a tiny window in the bathroom for air....except that didn't open eitheir. The shower was only ridiculously hot water that I couldn't even wash my hands under it. I had to wash from a tiny sink, including my long hair. Waste of money. Also, their were dark stains on the bed sheets and holes in the duvet.The only saving grace was the staff member on reception when I checked out. Positive person who wished me a good day. That's the only reason why 2 stars have been given.
