Liked: Exceptional welcome from delightful staff informing us of a happy hour(free wine between 5-6pm) and free continental breakfast

great central hotel
Liked: The location is great during the day, right next to the freedom trail, in the middle of the shopping district. At night the neighborhood becomes less desirable. Very nice hotel, big rooms, we didn't know breakfast was included, this is not clear on booking.com. Friendly personnel, well almost all of them anyway. Room was ready before the 3 pm check in time that was wonderful.
Disliked: One member of staff was not very friendly. We asked for a tub and got a room with a shower. Upon leaving the hotel we needed a taxi but the one member of staff was busy helping other people who needed only some restaurant info, when she found out she helped us as much as she could... We got to the airport with a little time left though. But overall great experience.

Liked: Friendly staff, good breakfast and nice Happy Hour. Very good location.
Disliked: Stayed twice there within three weeks. First room had no safety-box and second room a view right on the wall of the neighbouring building. Not the responsibility of the hotel, however a point of a certain frustration: c.25% taxes and additional charges on room-rate in Boston. Albeit those charges it apparently still works, as the citiy is crowded...............

Liked: Good room size
Disliked: Hotel cocktail bar closed before advertised time. Room service was not 24 hours for drinks as advertised in the room. Staff where unhelpful when seeking to book a taxi for the airport. We were told no need to book as taxis ranked outside hotel only to be told next morning they were not due to planned road works. No offer to take luggage to room on arrival. No hair dryer in the room as it should have been. Had to ask twice for one to delivered, eventually delivered but took so long so to arrive it caused us to miss a dinner reservation. Overall service did not match the price charged.

It's a no-brainer!
Liked: Great hotel smack bang in the centre of historic Boston. Very helpful and friendly staff; good breakfast. Lovely K9 guests staying at the hotel: Kimptons are dog-friendly and the canine guests were all polite, friendly and cute at the evening wine / snappy hour in the lobby.
Disliked: The elevators are dark and it's difficult for one's eyes to adjust to see the buttons when entering from the light. The shower taps are difficult to manage: you alternately get freezing cold or scalding hot water, but it's possible to juggle it to some sort of acceptable medium with practice. They also need more hooks to hang towels in the bathroom. For the price, Kimptons should also provide complimentary bottles of water in the rooms and not the hugely-overpriced bottles that are part of the minibar. However, they do have a water station with cucumber- and fruit-water in the lobby, so one can always go downstairs to get something to drink. I noticed the exact same issues at two other Kimptons that we stayed at in NYC.

Liked: Location was excellent for any walks we wanted to do. Continental breakfast was adequate
The room lighting had spot lighting and so it appeared dark. Not good for my wife and daughter trying to blow-dry their hair
