The Spotlight on Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia By IHG

Art Deco Elegance in the Heart of Center City

Modern meets vintage at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia, a chic, pet-friendly stay just steps from Rittenhouse Square. With its bold Art Deco design, this centrally located hotel blends luxury with personality—perfect for concert-goers who want to stay stylish while staying close to the action. Rooms come with plush beds, city views, iHome docking stations, and a fully-stocked minibar for those post-show wind-downs.

You're just blocks from Walnut Street shopping, cool cocktail lounges, and Philadelphia’s top live music venues, making it an unbeatable base for a music-filled getaway.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a short walk or quick ride share away from many of Philly’s best venues. With a 24/7 concierge, you can easily get directions, tickets, or transport sorted—even late at night. The complimentary evening wine hour (5–6 pm) is perfect for pre-show vibes, and the central location means you can enjoy the city without worrying about a long trek back to your room. Plus, the rooms are quiet—ideal for decompressing after a high-energy set.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want a social, stylish spot to kick off the night
  • Solo travelers catching a bucket-list artist with comfort and convenience
  • Couples making a weekend escape around a big concert
  • Fans who want a quieter, classy space to recharge post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking free perks like coffee, tea, and wine hour

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no 24/7 room service, Square 1862 serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily—an ideal option for late risers after a show. The hotel also offers free morning coffee and tea, and the minibar is a convenient in-room fix. Step outside and you're within walking distance of some of Philly’s best eateries and late-night bites.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel doesn’t host live music on-site, it’s surrounded by buzzing bars and lounges in Center City. Whether you’re craving a craft cocktail or a low-key nightcap, you’re never far from the action. The hotel’s own vibe is upscale but unpretentious—great for getting ready before heading out or winding down afterward.

What People Say

Guests love the stylish interior and prime location. Many mention the friendly staff, comfy beds, and thoughtful touches like the nightly wine hour and pet-friendly policy. Reviews often highlight how easy it is to get to nearby venues and enjoy the city on foot. It’s a favorite for travelers who want boutique charm with urban convenience.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests have noted that the rooms can be on the smaller side, especially when traveling in groups. A few also mention that parking is pricey and valet-only—but that's pretty typical for downtown Philly. Bring your walking shoes or plan on ride shares for the most stress-free experience.

The Bottom Line

A stylish, centrally located hotel with luxe touches and walkable access to Philly’s top music venues—perfect for concert-goers who want comfort and convenience with a splash of Art Deco flair.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Chris T, Wilmington

The room was very dirty, sheets were stained and absolutely disgusting. The food was outrageously expensive and dreadful. No free parking; rude manager. I was supposed to be upgraded and it ended up being similar to a Howard Johnson's hotel - not worth the money.

Liked: None.
Disliked: Dirty room; terrible food.

Liked: Great location. Comfy rooms! The milk and cookies coupon for the kids was a very cute touch!
Disliked: Breakfast itself and service at breakfast was pretty poor! The restaurant is a concession so make sure you get your coupon if your breakfast is included in your room rate! Parking is also really expensive!

Disappointing….would

Liked: The bed was comfortable
Disliked: Customer service lacked on every aspect. From waiting outside for 20 minutes to get vallet help was disappointing especially when we arrived around 9:00pm. We were given miss information about where to get food and the people working there acted like we were annoying them by asking questions.

Superb large bright clean rooms...

Liked: Beautiful building and modern fresh decor throughout. Great room service. Amazing staff and all requests and questions dealt with right away and to complete satisfaction. Location is fantastic with so many shops and food and drink options on the doorstep. Short taxi drive to train stations.
Disliked: Only thing I can mention is air con in reception and lobby lounge doesn’t seem very powerful. But this is minor, it’s literally the only thing I can think to write as a slight negative.
