The Spotlight on Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle By IHG

Chic Comfort in the Heart of Seattle

Modern, bold, and full of Pacific Northwest flair, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle is a vibrant retreat in downtown Seattle. With its eclectic decor, luxe rooms, and walkable location near major venues and attractions, this boutique hotel blends quirky charm with upscale amenities.
Whether you're in town for a sold-out show or just soaking in the city's rhythm, this hotel puts you right in the center of the action.

Why Concert-goers love it

You're just a short walk or Uber ride from some of Seattle’s biggest venues—including the Paramount Theatre and Climate Pledge Arena. After the encore, head back to a quiet, comfortable room with free WiFi, plush bedding, and luxury bath amenities to unwind. Late-night arrivals are no problem with the flexible 3:00 PM check-in and 12:00 PM check-out, making it easy to sleep in after a night of music. The hotel’s downtown location also means easy access to public transport and ride shares at any hour.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish home base near the venues
  • Solo travelers crossing an artist off their bucket list
  • Couples enjoying a music-filled weekend escape
  • Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space with upscale comfort
  • Budget-conscious music fans willing to splurge a little for location and amenities

Food and Drink Options

Start your day with the hotel’s morning coffee and tea service, perfect after a late night. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the area is packed with walkable eateries and bars open late. You’ll also find a mini-bar and coffee maker in every room for convenient refueling. Don’t miss the hotel’s afternoon wine reception—a great way to mingle and settle in before heading out.

Nightlife Options

While there’s no on-site live music, you're just steps from downtown Seattle’s nightlife, including intimate jazz lounges, buzzing bars, and local breweries. Grab a craft cocktail nearby before or after your show. The hotel’s hip vibe and central location make it a great launchpad for exploring the scene.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, stylish decor, and superb downtown location. Many note the rooms are surprisingly quiet for a city-center hotel, and the free amenities like yoga mats and wine hour add a touch of luxury. The hotel’s boutique feel and quirky design are often highlighted in reviews.

Areas for Improvement

A few guests mention the rooms can feel a bit dark, and parking is pricey (though typical for downtown Seattle). If you're looking for sweeping views or a rooftop bar, this may not be your top pick—but the charm makes up for it.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want to stay stylishly close to the action while enjoying upscale comforts, Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle hits the right note.

Jeanne, Anchorage, visiting The Triple Door

The Monaco Hotel is a great getaway spot, but it also serves as a great launch for your Downtown Seattle experience. The hotel is within walking distance to Pike Street Pier fun, and to lot's of shopping choices. We loved the friendly front desk staff, and the atmosphere of the hotel. This hotel has great "extras" - such as bicycle rentals, pet friendly, and an evening happy hour. The only disappointment we had was the Sazerac Restaurant attached to the hotel. We had lunch on Friday and breakfast on Saturday and were extremely disappointed at both meals. The service was marginal and the food was terrible. We won't eat there again until they do a total overhaul. Bottom line is stay at the Hotel Monaco but dine at another restaurant!

Liked: Great hotel staff.
Disliked: Attached restaurant - Sazerac.

Misleading information and overpriced for...

Disliked: Misleading information and overpriced for what you get. We paid $405 per night and the standard is explicitly not better than in other hotels. They lied about the breakfast which, according to Booking.com, was $30 per person. Yet upon arrival they gave us the menu and said that it is "a la carte", which is much more expensive. They also forgot to clean our room, which we noticed when we returned from a long trip in the city. So we had to tell them and wait outside while they cleaned it. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency afterwards, which is better equipped and has significantly better service, in addition to the closer proximity to restaurants and shops. We do not recommend staying at Kimpton Hotel Monaco.

Disappointing...gets good reviews (most earned);...

Liked: Location, helpful staff, large room and bath.
Disliked: Room was large but very austere. Lacked a comfortable chair (e.g. arm chair) to be able to relax and read. Only chair was an uncomfortable desk chair that was replaced by another uncomfortable desk chair. Also the imposed "amenities fee" was petty and a very poor value...for $50 all we got out of it was a wine tasting and a couple of bottles of water. Renovation not complete, but the new "look" is a bit austere and lacked warmth.
