Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle, Seattle

The Monaco Hotel is a great getaway spot, but it also serves as a great launch for your Downtown Seattle experience. The hotel is within walking distance to Pike Street Pier fun, and to lot's of shopping choices. We loved the friendly front desk staff, and the atmosphere of the hotel. This hotel has great "extras" - such as bicycle rentals, pet friendly, and an evening happy hour. The only disappointment we had was the Sazerac Restaurant attached to the hotel. We had lunch on Friday and breakfast on Saturday and were extremely disappointed at both meals. The service was marginal and the food was terrible. We won't eat there again until they do a total overhaul. Bottom line is stay at the Hotel Monaco but dine at another restaurant!

Disliked: Attached restaurant - Sazerac.

Long weekend in Seattle

Liked: Good location downtown Seattle. Close to the piers and Pike Place Market. Walking distance from the train station (a bit uphill and about 10-15', but easy).

I would recommend the Kimpton...

Liked: I was able to bring my cat. He loved looking out over the street from the second floor window. I relaxed. It was still quiet being in the middle of town.
Disliked: No coffee machine. But then I only had an essential room. I stay at casino hotels a lot and always enjoyed free coffee to make in room.

In and Out for a...

Liked: Front Desk staff and Concierge were both helpful and accommodating, esp after a bit of trouble finding my reservation in the system.
Disliked: Coffee is not nearly as good as it used to be. (This is a small Big Deal!)

Location was great, clean, helpful...

Liked: Clean, good atmosphere, happy hour was a nice touch
Disliked: The windows don’t open, no bathroom fan

Exceptional

Liked: Ideal location, love the interior, would stay again.
Disliked: No coffee machine in room or complementary water

Bad

Disliked: Very expensive, charged us extra charges with no notice (ex for car valet parking )also they charged us twice for the room and it took 3 calls to have reimbursement. At the hotel the morning of our departure they dismissed my noticing of this error and were condescending.

Mediocre stay.

Liked: Early check in and later check out times
Disliked: We were given the wrong room and staff begrudgingly had to correct it. We were then given a different room that was still not what I had originally booked. No apologies were offered.
