Comfortable and central.

Liked: Very comfortable and central. Amazing fell views.
Disliked: No lift! OK for us as fit but for older guests, third floor with no lift at those prices is not good enough.

Hotel is in a great...

Liked: The buffet breakfast was good, but not everything was replenished quickly. The one evening meal we had was very good if expensive. Our room was large and comfortable but had horrid views of the roof tops.
Disliked: This was a last minute booking made in a hurry about two hours before arrival, as existing plans collapsed, as we were just about to drive up to the lakes. I intended to book half board but appear to have pressed the wrong button and we were offered B and B on arrival. I asked to upgrade but this was not possible apparently. We were welcome to dine but were charged a higher, and indeed high, rate for our first evening meal. We therefore choose to dine and drink outside the hotel on the other two evenings.

Had a very enjoyable stay

Liked: Lovely surroundings and good location.
Disliked: We booked two standard king rooms but both very different, one quite spacious and modern but the other smaller and much more dated.

The most complete short stay...

Liked: I have stayed here many times over the years, and it's always a pleasure. From being checked in by Ash, to be very well catered for by Matilda and staff the evening meal was excellent in quality and taste, the same was also with the breakfast with the added bonus of a familiar staff member, who I have been served numerous times at The Patterdale, apologies if I miss spell his name, Arunes?
Disliked: Nothing springs to mind, really.

Location location

Liked: Staff were super friendly and thebhouse was grand. First impressions were great. Breakfast was fantastic. We did not eat at the restaurant. Room was clean. Perfect location for relaxed walks into town, around the grounds and the local park. Good parking.
Disliked: We were on level 3 and while we were directed to the lift we did not know we had 2 sets of small steps after we got to the floor. Had to carry the bags. Beds were small and well.used. Mine was uneven as clearly used on one side. We had a twin configuration and booked standard twin.

Nice!

Liked: The location is lovely, quiet, and close to the town centre, making it easy to explore the lakes and surrounding walks. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was fresh and tasty with good variety. The building itself has charm and character, though it feels a little dated in places.
Disliked: My main disappointment was the room view – instead of the beautiful scenery Keswick is known for, it looked out onto a wall, which was a shame.
