Hotel Description
Exceptional beds gorgeous views and a stunning penthouse fitness center draw high praise from our guests for the non-smoking Kansas City Marriott Downtown. This 22-story hotel boasts two towers and 946 rooms. The rooms are spacious and the beds are dreamy — with pillowtop mattresses plump duvets and lots of pillows. Make a cuppa in your room and enjoy free Wi-Fi at the comfortable work desk with ergonomic chair. Enjoy a show on your 37-inch flat-panel TV. Granite bathrooms are outfitted with new showerheads and upscale bath products. There's even an in-room fitness program but you'd be remiss not to check out the workout facility on the 22nd floor with a heated indoor lap pool loads of cardio free weights massage and tanning services and a killer view. Post-workout you have plenty of dining/drinking options to choose from: two restaurants a coffee house a cocktails-only pub and a lounge with light fare and drinks. Parking is available for various fees whether you choose on-site off-site or valet. Smack in the center of downtown the hotel is connected to the Kansas City Convention Center via a covered walkway — a nice touch in the winter. It's also just one block from the hopping Power & Light District — abuzz with restaurants clubs and theaters — and six blocks from Sprint Center the premium concert and sporting arena. The hotel is 22 miles from Kansas City International Airport

Julie, Pacific, visiting Crossroads KC Mon, 4 September 2017

We just spent the night in Kansas City and left the next morning. We did have breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel and it was really good.

Liked: I loved the elevators. You just put the floor your room is on in a pad outside the elevator and it tells you what elevator door to get on. You don't even feel like you're on an elevator.
Disliked: No, there was nothing bad about the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.

Location was great for the events we were attending and staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Disliked: Yes. Restaurant, the Metropolitan, and there was no hot tub.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Aurora, Kansas City Mon, 23 July 2012

The rooms were tiny! And where are those awesome bathrobes? For $300 a night I at least wanted to take a late night dip in the pool. But it closed at 10. Dumb. $13 for self parking is terrible - it should have been free.

Disliked: Small rooms; no bathrobes; parking is too expensive.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Julie, Manhattan Wed, 21 September 2011

Was not impressed with the hotel in general. Was not informed of extra charges for internet service and self parking. I have stayed at numerous hotels in the KC area, this was the worst due to the impersonal service and extra fees. I won't be back to this hotel, I just expect more.

Liked: Close to power & light district
Disliked: Very impersonal large hotel, if you want to be treated like a number, not a guest, this is the hotel for you!!!

Poor - 0.5 out of 5

Liked: location
Disliked: While the main floor was very clean we stayed on the 12th floor and when arriving at 5 pm there were sheets and blankets all over the hall floor, however, that did not get cleaned off the floor until after midnight and the dishes and trash never got clean

Wonderful - 4.5 out of 5

Verified Hotel Guest Fri, 15 June 2018

Liked: The room service was on time and delicious. The staff was very attentive and made check-in and out smooth. Also, the proximity to nearby entertainment such as the Power and Light District is perfect.
Disliked: The room was clean but the furniture seemed outdated for the type of hotel and price paid.

Good - 3.5 out of 5

Verified Hotel Guest Fri, 15 June 2018

Liked: I really enjoyed the location, it is walking distance of the power and light district.
Disliked: It was confusing on how to get to the other part of the hotel. We followed signs that led us from one parking garage to another one then an elevator and followed more signs hoping we weren't lost to then another elevator that got us to our room..

Liked: The location is fantastic for exploring downtown KC.
Disliked: The gurgling sound coming from the toilet at 6am and the cleaning staff yelling "House Keeping" up and down the halls at 8am.

Verified Hotel Guest Fri, 15 June 2018

Liked: The front desk was so nice with an easy check in process. We mentioned we were celebrating and got a great park view room and they even sent up some chocolate cake. Even when the valet was busy they were still quicker than a lot of hotels I've been to.
Disliked: Loved everything.
