H, Phoenix, visiting Doug Fir Lounge

Thank you for the comfortable bed, great shower and overall hip rooms. I've traveled all over the world and for the price your accommodations were 5-star!

Liked: Comfortable rooms. Staff was very, very nice and accommodating. Doug Fir next door had great food, service and an awesome concert venue. When I return to Portland I will only stay at your hotel. You guys get a AAA+.

Very good

Liked: Location was great. Hotel walls are rather thin, but aside from that the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable!
Disliked: If you have luggage be prepared to carry it up flights of stairs both from the parking garage and to the second floor for rooms. Pack light:)

Comfortable, clean, quirky value lodging...

Liked: We were looking for an Eastside experience. We were on foot, so the Jupiter was near center of Portland and a good base for urban hiking, plus close to very good public transit. Room was very clean. It's a value property, so space was tight, but acceptable. We weren't there to spend time in our room anyway, so it was both funky and functional. Good morning coffee and to our delight a very pleasant bar with competent and friendly mixologists in a very pleasant atmosphere. (Much needed after a long day of hiking). Portland is not a pretentious city experience and east side is even less so. The southwest quadrant is either businesses/warehouses areas that give way to neighborhoods. Both are dotted with some solid dining experiences.

Poor

Liked: The evening staff was very accommodating with trying to get wifi connected to our room, which was listed in the booking as being provided.
Disliked: Non smoking room smelled like smoke. We were just needing a place with traveling for overnight use to get some work done while on the road. No WiFi as advertised. Evening staff super accommodating to try and move our room closer to the office for better reception. No luck, even when trying to log onto office network. We asked upon check out for discounted rate die to lack of wifi the manager stated there was nothing she could do as it appeared that we were checking and "needed" to get going? Said she would call me later thar morning to discuss further. That was a week ago and still no phone call!

Perfect for solo traveler

Liked: I loved the location. It was quiet, comfortable, clean and perfect for a solo traveler.
Disliked: Really nothing I didn't like, but it would have been nice to have coffee available to the guests in the older hotel without having to cross the street. They did have some on Monday and Tuesday but I was already up and had coffee from the main lobby by that time.
