Enjoyable anniversary stay in pleasant...

Liked: Staff were friendly. We were given a room upgrade for our anniversary and had a welcoming card and chocolates. The room was nice with added features and a pleasant view in pleasant surroundings. The bed was very comfortable. The bar and lounge were pleasant and enjoyed breakfast in the orangery. Breakfast choice and quality were excellent
Disliked: I believe there was a pool as we found robes but a bit of a distance away and that wasn’t made clear. There wasn’t a great menu choice in the bar where a few more options would have been nice and maybe a little costly for the portion size. There were a few children in when we went and lacking much choice for them.

Liked: The location is great for accessing the city while also enjoying the peace of surrounding Jesmond Dene
Disliked: It’s a very dated property. The bathroom shower was mouldy and overall the whole room was in need of an upgrade. The hotel is marketed as luxury but it felt more like a B&B than an experience

Disliked: Path leading to hotel if on foot badly lit. Entering hotel ground late evening not well lit either

Lovely oasis of calm in...

Liked: The lovely Abby on reception was super friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and service was great. The terrace was amazing and the weather playing ball meant we could sit outside and use it.
Disliked: There were a few little sequins left on the carpet from previous guests in the room.

what I needed

Liked: the location was great as I had my bicycle in the car
Disliked: the room was very hot and I could not open the window

Nice but not worth the...

Disliked: The room was nice although bed was 2 single bed pushed together so not great when you fall down the middle in such an expensive room, the hot tub had far too many chemicals which I get why but couldn’t sit in it for more than 5 mins at a time as it was making our eyes sting. Sunday morning I had just got out the shower and the cleaner just walked straight in the room without knocking, which was extremely embarrassing. Most upsetting and annoying thing is my husband left a very expensive bracelet at the side of the bed which was a wedding present only 2 months ago. I get it was his fault for leaving it there, however we called straight away the same day and it had gone, which was so upsetting and disappointing.
