Good value for a brief...

Liked: Clean, nice shower, free parking, liked short walk to a great breakfast place and short drive to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. One of the few places that had 3 beds in one room, so we appreciated that! Pictures were accurate!
Disliked: Late check in process requiring sending documents, photocopies, seems outdated and cumbersome. They do not have 24-hr front desk concierge like most hotels we have been to. However, we did call and they were able to help over the phone instead. The decor is a bit outdated and strange.

Great value and lovely staff

Liked: I loved Jephson! I stayed here for 5 days and would happily have stayed more. The staff were absolutely lovely, so friendly and helpful. Toowong is actually a great option, about 15-20 minutes on the bus or train to the centre or about half an hour on the ferry. Toowong village shopping centre is 5 minutes walk and has loads of infrastructure, there's a street full of good Asian restaurants and coffee shops between the station/bus stop and the hotel and KatsuCo next to the hotel is excellent. It's worth taking the public transport to take advantage of the significantly better price.
Disliked: Some days the reception is not staffed after 5pm which seems a bit early (though once you've checked in you can get in at any time). But the staff are lovely and respond to messages very quickly, you just need to let them know in advance that you'll be arriving later so they can arrange an out-of-hours check-in.

Comfortable hotel but no breakfast...

Liked: The location was good. Room and bathroom facilities were excellent, with very comfy, huge bed. With windows closed there was no noise. A nice balcony.
Disliked: There was nowhere to have a ‘normal’ breakfast within the hotel or even close by. The only restaurant in the building is a Japanese one which the blurb in room said served, for instance, scrambled egg and bacon for breakfast. However, being a late riser I went downstairs about 1045-1100 to order that and was told it was ‘too late’. I then walked as far as Toowong Village shopping centre but could find nothing suitable for breakfast anywhere. I eat all different cuisines but wanted a normal, healthy breakfast but the street is full of cheap Asian cafes. I ended up having rice paper rolls from a little Vietnamese cafe.
