Overall, we had a great...
Liked: Friendly staff, fun vibe with the record player, very clean and comfortable, convenient location, very quiet room facing the courtyard.
Disliked: It was difficult to turn off and on only the lights you wanted. You could not turn off the heating in the bathroom floor, and the room was very warm. A week or two before my stay, someone from the property messaged that I wouldn’t be able to stay after all because the whole floor would have to be closed and they were putting me in a different hotel owned by the same company that was actually twice as far from the city center. Booking.com helped resolve the issue.

Very good
Liked: Staff are very kind and welcoming. It’s clean and modern.
Disliked: I think location is a bit further away from the nice busy city centre which is honestly the best part of Vienna. Most streets are under construction so I didn’t quite enjoy the walk to the centre. But it’s not a deal breaker at all.

Over-priced Hotel that Places Gimmicks...
Liked: The location was excellent, on a quiet corner but walkable to everything, including 2 Ubahn stations (U3 and U4). The room was clean and the shower and hot water with good pressure.
Disliked: The hotel design clearly placed gimmicky aesthetics over function. Despite claiming concern for the environment, my room was structured so that there was no individual control over the lights - there was a single, harsh, spotlight-level bedside light that could be turned on it by itself. Otherwise, when you walk in the door, there is a single switch that turns on no less than 7 lights in the bedroom, bathroom/sink/shower/entry area. Despite being advertised as a queen bed, what you get is 2 twins pushed together with a crack down the middle. That's NOT a queen bed. The shower is placed in the center of the room with glass walls so that anyone showering is fully visible from anywhere in the room (and to anyone across the courtyard who can see through the hotel windows). There is a curtain that can be drawn on the bedside, but none on the other side, which faces the door. This means that if you are sharing the room, anyone walking into the room while you're showering will see you, as will anyone in the hallway when they open the door. And there is no way for your room-mate to use the separate toilet or sink without also seeing you shower. Despite having 2 restaurants on site, there is no room service. The hotel provides a yoga mat (great idea) that is useless because there is not sufficient floor space to put the yoga mat or do yoga (again, gimmick > function). Likewise, the hotel's primary gimmick is vinyl records, so your room will have a sizable chunk of space dedicated to a massive cart holding a record player...but there will be no desk or table where you could set things, like a laptop. The staff were curt and far from friendly or accommodating - each interaction made me feel like they were questioning my audacity at asking them a question. Finally, the hotel is centrally heated beyond belief - I was sweating in a t-shirt in my room with the window cracked the full 2-inches it would crack, despite it being 14 degrees outside.

Great will definitely be back
Liked: The hotel is very much at home in its district. You get a feel for the vibe of the surrounding area (artsy/queer/very music_centric) immediately. The rooftop bar (mariatrink I think it was called) is fabulous. The staff were all really helpful and assisted me to part ways with my old luggage bag- shoutout to the the one staff member with red dreadlocks who suggested I donate the bag. I have holiday brain mode switched on and didn’t think of that at all, but I was much happier donating around the corner at Caritas then letting it become landfill. My room was huge and the tech set up made staying there a breeze.
