Liked: Good location in quiet district 10-15 minutes walk from the harbor.
Disliked: We got a bed that smelled really bad. Fortunately, they gave us another room.

Exceptional

Liked: Close to Beacon Hill, water and downtown. Staff was so friendly and we were able to leave bags after checkout so we could wander unencumbered before our ferry departure.

A Good Option Away From...

Liked: Well located hotel, nothing fancy but that's compensated for in the price. Ten minute walk to the major bus stops and Legislature area sights. Room was quite comfortable and had enough room to get our luggage out of the way. They stored that for us after we checked out. We used the attached cafe/restaurant for breakfasts. It has a pub too but we didn't hear any activity from it of a night.
Disliked: No elevator which may be a problem for some. I didn't notice a heating/cooling option but temperature was fine for our two days.

Disliked: Everything is very old. Damp smell of old furniture. After turning on the heating fan, the electricity went out. The child was bitten by bedbugs.

Liked: This is a 114 year old building .It is very clean and well maintained. As one comment said ,it is dated but very cozy and friendly. It is well located to Victoria's core attractions . If you enjoy walks it is central to parks ,beaches and shoreline attractions. Staff are wonderful to deal with and the prices are the best in town for dinning and location.
Disliked: You must understand it is old . If you want slick modern and expensive, go elsewhere. This place is comfortable and homey . We enjoyed our stay very much.
