I was not expecting the...
Liked: The place was reasonably clean except for under the bed.
Disliked: Early one morning at about 1230 I heard loud arguing between a husband and his wife in front of my door. A few days later pararescue workers arrived, and the wife was ultimately escorted off the property by the police. The clerk at the desk said the woman was mentally ill and hadn't taken her medication.A few days later I arrived at the hotel after a conference and there were four police cars on the property and five to ten officers. The desk clerk told me that the Chattanooga PD SWAT team broke down the door of someone's room with a battering ram and arrested him for drug trafficking. One other afternoon I spotted some guy dancing with himself in the courtyard. Residents told me that the hotel accepts people who have just been released from halfway houses. Also, on my first day there, the manager told me about all the ways I could be evicted. And as an added aggravation, the hotel (or the travel site) wouldn't allow me out of my second week after I found an apartment. The toilet valve stayed open and I had to remove the tank top and re-seat it after every flush. I reported it to the management, but nothing was done. I also had to plug in one of the stove top burners that had been disconnected. This hotel probably does a fine job for people who have mental health problems or for those who could not find an apartment because of poor credit, or a police record but it was a miserable place for me!
