A good place for hikers...

Liked: I like availability and helpfullness of the personnel: they responded to my complaints about the noise in the adjacent room. The place was clean and easily accessible (no need to enter codes and such).
Disliked: We booked a room for two, but it had two separate twin beds, which was, although not a disaster, but something unexpected. The room was accessible via one flight of stairs with no elevator there, so I had to pull my heavy suitcase upstairs.Also, a group of girls came into the adjacent room at 1:30 AM and made such noise that I had no choice but to complain to personnel. To their credit, they took action and resolved the issue.

My first hostel visit was...

Liked: The staff and location were great. The staff were nice and accommodating. I canceled my stay after the first night. I was refunded the remainder of what I paid for 3 nights, which they were not obligated to do, so I appreciate that. Location was excellent.
Disliked: 1- The room was way too hot!! This is the main reason I canceled the rest of my visit. The window was opened all night but didn't help. They had no fans available either. It was a hot box which I could not handle. I didn't sleep all night and went outside multiple times throughout the night to cool off.2- The metal ladder rungs are square and the most uncomfortable, painful feeling on my feet. I despised going up and down each time.3- The metal lid on the storage box is heavy. When lifted all the way up, it stays in place, the box moves real easily on its wheels, which is all good. However, you need to be real careful as you place your bags in. The lid came crashing down on my head when I was accessing something in my bag, and it rolled, hitting the bed frame, which made it fall. It's heavy and painful!4- Everything seems to be designed for maximum noise!! The door to the room is very squeaky. The metal storage box is noisy when accessing it. The floor at the washroom makes a super loud creaking noise when walking on it. It's impossible for anyone to be quiet when others are sleeping! 5- The lounge was a joke. All furniture was broken, stained, and uncomfortable. Computers were there but not working, 6- The only vending machine was out of order! No other means of food or drink available on the premises. This was my first hostel visit, and I hated it. I moved out and spent much more money for a calm and peaceful hotel to recover. Im off to London next, and hopefully that hostel will be much better.
