Chic Downtown Vibes Just Steps from the French Quarter

Modern, stylish, and unmistakably New Orleans, the International House Hotel blends boutique charm with urban energy. Located less than a mile from the French Quarter, this artful hotel is surrounded by the city’s best music venues, nightlife, and culture. Inside, expect sleek black-and-white interiors, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a cool, creative vibe that nods to the city's jazz roots.

Why Concert-goers love it

With many of New Orleans' top venues within walking distance, including iconic spots in the French Quarter and Warehouse District, this hotel is a dream for music lovers. The 10-minute walk to Harrah’s Casino and the Audubon Aquarium means you're never far from the action. Despite its central location, guests often mention the quiet, restful rooms—perfect after a long night of dancing. Late-night Ubers are easy to snag, and with check-in from 4:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM, there’s time to relax before and after the show.

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish base near the Quarter
  • Solo travelers catching a must-see show
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who need a chill, design-forward recovery space
  • Budget-conscious music lovers wanting great value with character

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, you’re surrounded by the culinary delights of downtown New Orleans. Late-night bites are just a short walk away, and many nearby eateries offer delivery. The hotel’s central location makes it easy to grab breakfast or brunch the morning after a show. No 24/7 room service, but plenty of local flavor nearby.

Nightlife Options

This is New Orleans—nightlife is everywhere. From live jazz clubs and rooftop bars to high-energy dance spots, you’ll find it all within a few blocks. The hotel’s own stylish lobby lounge often draws a pre-show crowd for craft cocktails and conversation.

What People Say

Guests praise the hotel’s gorgeous design, friendly staff, and location that’s close yet quiet. Many love the intimate, boutique feel and how easy it is to walk to concerts, restaurants, and bars. It’s often described as a hidden gem for travelers who want to be near the action without being overwhelmed by it.

Areas for Improvement

There’s no restaurant or bar on-site, so you’ll need to venture out for meals and drinks—but that’s rarely a problem in a food city like New Orleans. Some guests note the rooms are on the smaller side, but still well-designed and comfortable.

The Bottom Line

The International House Hotel offers style, comfort, and unbeatable access to the New Orleans music scene—perfect for concert-goers who want to soak it all in, then sleep it off in style.

Worst Hotel Experience in New...

Disliked: I recently stayed at this hotel on Saturday, June 21, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had—and I travel frequently as an artist manager. To start, I was charged twice at check-in despite having prepaid online. Then our room was in unacceptable condition: it was filled with construction equipment (scaffolding, tools), a glass of water, and used towels left on the bed. I notified the front desk and was told it would be taken care of—but no one ever came, and we had to clean the room ourselves.Later that night, we returned to find the room extremely hot—the AC was broken, reading 78°F. At midnight, we were told the room should never have been assigned due to a known issue with the air conditioning. After waiting over 30 minutes, we had to move all our belongings to another building on our own, in the middle of the night. To top it off, the new room had a leaking bathroom and no hot water. This hotel is marketed as a 4-star experience, but the service and conditions fell far below that. I won’t be returning, and I certainly won’t recommend it to any of the artists or colleagues I book for when in New Orleans.

Good location.

Liked: Location of this property was fantastic. Bourbon and Canal Street just a short distance away.
Disliked: Would have liked free car parking as room was not that cheap. Good bar at the hotel but closes at 10 pm.

Hidden extra fee. Only the...

Liked: Location
Disliked: Rooms were not such beautiful as on the photos, ours were too outdated and needed upgrades. Our confirmed reservation for 2 rooms was prepaid for $1559.24, and all taxes and fees were included. We ordered late move out for one of our rooms for $50. But what we didn’t ordered, didn’t use and even weren’t informed that we can use that during our check in, is a $15/night amenities fee (our booking for 3 nights but were charged for 4 nights). Never heard back from the hotel
