Ordinary hotel with poor food...
Liked: It was a good location for shopping in the city
Disliked: This was not good value for the price I paid. I expected a 5-star hotel and it is definitely not up to that standard. Room service food choices are limited to the Spanish tapas menu at the restaurant. Would not stay again.

Booking.com ruined our stay
Liked: Hotel was great. Booking.com was a disaster
Disliked: Booking.com completely stuffed up my booking. I asked for twin beds. But the hotel didn’t get that request. We had to get another room which cost $300. You cost us $300 and I bet you won’t bother to reply to my complaint. I guarantee you I will not use booking.com to book anything until you respond to my complaint.

Very good
Liked: Breakfast very nice, the view in floor 16 good.
Disliked: The receptionist explained different ways to deposit/hold money. Some staff said the money would be returned on the day when we checked out and the other staff said the money would be returned in 5-7 days later. Honest is important.

Disappointing Stay at InterContinental Perth:...
Liked: Disappointing Stay at InterContinental Perth: A Far Cry from 5-Star Excellence My experience at the InterContinental Perth was nothing short of disappointing. While the hotel’s prime location and passable breakfast were redeeming factors, almost everything else fell woefully short of what one would expect from a 5-star establishment. The check-in process was an absolute nightmare. It took an unreasonably long time to complete the formalities, leaving me standing around impatiently. To make matters worse, the staff seemed to treat guests who booked through third-party platforms with palpable disdain. They were constantly pushing me to book directly through the hotel’s official website, making me feel like a second-class customer for choosing a different booking method. Parking was another major headache. Despite being a high-end hotel, it doesn’t have its own dedicated parking spaces. Instead, guests are directed to paid parking areas, which is not only inconvenient but also an added expense. This lack of basic amenities is simply unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed caliber. The front desk staff were the most frustrating aspect of my stay. They spoke in a bureaucratic tone, robotic ally adhering to rules and regulations without any regard for the actual needs of the guests. Their sole focus seemed to be following the book rather than ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay for customers. Moreover, they appeared visibly tense, which translated into service that was far from comforting or satisfactory. It felt as though they were going through the motions rather than genuinely caring about the guests’ experiences. Compared to other InterContinental hotels I’ve stayed at, this one in Perth is miles behind in terms of service quality and overall experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I certainly won’t be returning. Save your time, money, and sanity, and choose a hotel that actually lives up to the 5-star standard.
