The Spotlight on InterContinental Montreal By IHG

Elegant Comfort in the Heart of Montreal's Entertainment Scene

Modern and stylish, the Intercontinental Montreal blends upscale comfort with unbeatable location. Situated just steps from the historic charm of Old Montreal and directly connected to the Montreal Convention Center, this hotel offers a polished, European-inspired vibe with contemporary amenities. It’s a sleek base for anyone hitting the city for a concert or live event.

Why Concert-goers love it

With its direct access to the underground city and proximity to public transit, getting to and from shows is easy—even late at night. You’re within walking distance to key venues and lively neighborhoods like the Old Port and St. Catherine Street. The 24-hour front desk and late check-out at 12:00 PM make it easy to recover after a night of music. Despite its central location, many guests report that rooms are quiet and perfect for a restful night.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to explore the music scene and nightlife
  • Solo travelers coming in for that must-see artist
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who want a quiet retreat after the show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing style

Food and Drink Options

The on-site French brasserie Osco! offers a full menu and extensive wine list—perfect for a pre-show dinner or post-concert bite. Le Sarah B. lounge is a chic spot to unwind with a drink. While room service isn’t 24/7, the walkable location means you’re never far from late-night eats, and brunch options abound nearby for those mornings after.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel doesn’t feature live music itself, it puts you close to Montreal’s vibrant nightlife. Walk to nearby bars, lounges, and clubs in Old Montreal or along St. Catherine Street. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, Le Sarah B. lounge offers local wines and cocktails in a cozy setting.

What People Say

Guests love the location—steps from key attractions and venues—and the elegant yet comfortable rooms. The staff receives high marks for friendliness and professionalism. Many appreciate the quiet, restful atmosphere despite being in the city center. The saltwater pool and sauna are also big hits for unwinding after a lively night.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers mention that the hotel’s decor, while classy, feels a bit traditional and might not appeal to those seeking a trendier vibe. A few guests noted that food and drink prices can be on the higher side—but with so many local spots nearby, you’ve got options.

The Bottom Line

Intercontinental Montreal is a stylish, well-located base for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury after the encore.

A great stay with truly...

Liked: My daughter and I were in town for Montreal Comic Con. The staff were super friendly and check-in was quick. What really impressed us was how kind and supportive everyone was when my daughter had a really bad panic attack during our first night. We called the hotel’s emergency line, and Yasmine (the night auditor) came to help. She was amazing, so calm, kind, and stayed with us for nearly an hour to make sure my daughter was okay.We ended up having to cancel our second night, and even though refunds aren’t usually allowed, the manager made an exception given the situation. Chantal at the concierge was also lovely and even gave my daughter a little stuffed moose with the hotel’s name on it.Big thanks to the whole team. We’re really grateful. We’ll definitely book here again for next year’s Comic Con!
Disliked: Nothing, everything was good.

So close but meh

Liked: Location and architecture
Disliked: There is no jacuzzi...the whole separate saunas for couples is ridiculous...when the men's side isn't working it's especially stupid. There should be one large area for suana and steam
