Disappointing Stay Despite Great Location

Liked: The location is excellent - central and convenient for exploring Miami. The breakfast buffet was also enjoyable, with a good range of options and fresh selections each morning.
Disliked: There were a number of issues that impacted my overall stay:• Key Card Access: On the first day, my room key card worked once and then stopped allowing me to access my floor (27). The front desk was able to reset it, but it was a hassle I didn’t expect.• Elevator Certification: It was extremely concerning to see that the elevator’s certificate of operation had expired back in July 2020. That kind of oversight raises major questions about safety and maintenance.• Breakfast Receipts: Every morning, staff would place a printed bill on the table asking for my name and room number, even though breakfast was included in my stay. The receipt also listed the price as if I were paying for the meal - and included a section for tipping. This created unnecessary pressure and confusion. I simply wanted to enjoy breakfast without feeling awkward about gratuities or seeing a price attached to a benefit that was already included.• Mattress Quality: This was a major downside. The mattress was very uncomfortable - I woke up with a sore back every single day, which genuinely affected my ability to enjoy the trip.• In-Room Technology: The TV felt like it belonged in the 1990s. While cable worked, streaming apps like YouTube were incredibly slow - taking minutes to load and search. In 2025, this level of tech is outdated and frustrating, especially when even basic hotel rooms now have smart TVs that function properly.Overall:The hotel looks great on the surface and the brand carries weight, but my experience didn’t match expectations. With a few key updates and more attention to detail, it has potential - but based on this stay, I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
