A Good Location.

Liked: Check-in was quick and easy. Although we walked up the stairs to the room, there is a lift available. The room itself was standard but very comfortable and clean. We booked a room with the view of the lake, which was lovely to see as we walked in. The bathroom was big with a shower at the far end. Tea and coffee available in room with a small kettle. Good seating area in the bar where you could order a meal. Plenty of variety on the menu and we liked the idea of the chefs special dish of the day. Although this hotel sits on the A2, our room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff we met were friendly and professional.
Disliked: I have seen comments that the rooms need updating, which in some ways is true,but not the end of the world. Look beyond the decoration and you have yourself a nice little comfortable retreat for a few days stay.

Good hotel for short stay...

Liked: Staff very friendly and hotel has a lovely outlook onto the lakes at the back. Location is just off the A2 so good for getting to areas around quickly. Breakfast was varied and a good menu for bar meals.
Disliked: Hotel decor is a bit dated and restaurant and bar a bit basic, little comfy seating. Water pressure in the shower was extremely low and at one point there was no cold water at all coming from the handbasin tap. Very small TV in the room and tiny cups with stirring sticks rather than teaspoons.
