The Spotlight on Inn at the Highlands Denver Downtown

Relaxed Comfort Just Minutes from Downtown Denver's Biggest Stages

Modern and unfussy, the Inn at the Highlands Denver Downtown offers a laid-back stay in a prime location less than a mile from the city’s biggest music and entertainment venues. Nestled in the Highlands neighborhood, this hotel provides essential comforts like free Wi-Fi, free parking, and 24-hour front desk service without the downtown price tag.
Rooms are equipped with cable TV, air conditioning, a comfortable seating area, and private bathrooms, making it a solid choice for travelers wanting a clean, simple base to rest and recharge after a night of music.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and this hotel delivers—just a 15-minute walk to the Pepsi Center and even closer to Elitch Gardens and other downtown venues. With free parking (a rarity this close to the city), you can leave the car and explore on foot or by rideshare. While it’s close to the action, the neighborhood is quieter at night, making it a great place to unwind post-show. The 24-hour front desk adds peace of mind for late arrivals, and check-in starts at 3:00 PM—perfect for pre-show prep.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for an affordable place near the venues
  • Solo travelers catching a once-in-a-lifetime gig
  • Couples making a weekend trip out of a concert
  • Fans who want a quiet, no-fuss recovery space
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want to be close to the action

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, vending machines are available for quick snacks. You're just a short walk or drive from a variety of local eateries and late-night bites in the Highlands and LoDo neighborhoods. Need breakfast after a late night? Plenty of nearby cafés serve brunch well into the afternoon.

Nightlife Options

The hotel itself is quiet, but you're close to Denver’s buzzing nightlife scene. Within a quick Lyft or Uber ride, you’ll find bars, lounges, and live music venues that keep the energy going long after the encore. For something more relaxed, nearby local pubs offer craft beers and a chill vibe.

What People Say

Guests love the free parking and how close it is to downtown without being in the thick of it. Reviews often mention the clean rooms, helpful staff, and the hotel’s value for money. Many say it's a great spot for a quick trip to Denver for events and concerts.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t a luxury hotel—think basics done well. Some guests mention the decor is a bit dated and that amenities are limited. But most agree it’s a fair tradeoff for the location and price.

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to a concert and want a clean, convenient, and affordable place to crash—without the downtown chaos—the Inn at the Highlands is a smart pick.

It was an interesting experience.

Liked: Watching the tweakers outside our hotel room window. Watching drug dealers hand off drugs to people. We will definitely be back. The hotel room was okay but the hotel needs cleaned up alittle bit.
Disliked: The bathroom door in our hotel room was broken. Coffee isn’t served all day which it should be.

The stay was terrible. I...

Disliked: The room was unheated when the outside temperature was 18F. The room was dirty, there were not enough blankets on the beds. Amenities such as towel bars were ripped out of the walls, with holes remaining unpatched. Overall, I cannot believe the city of Denver allows a hotel such as this to continue to operate. Do not stay at this place.

Disliked: To be honest, the room was not completely clean was not swept or mopped. The bathtub was not that clean either. I had to clean it before I got out.
