A pleasant stay - despite...
Liked: The food was excellent - both breakfast and dinner. The bar prices were very reasonable. Bar and dinning room staff very friendly. The weather was brilliant - so the tables outside the front of the hotel, overlooking the sea, were ideal for drink and a chill.
Disliked: A shock having to pay an extra £9 per night to use the car park. Some guests we spoke to had refused to pay. The main lift was out-of-use - guests, particularly elderly/disabled/wheelchair users, were complaining having long waits for the tiny alternative lift to be available. We struggled to climb up the stairs to our room on the third floor but had to on some occasions. Guests were so frustrated they risked the COVID threat by ignoring the notice "one household only per journey in the lift". We had guests forcing themselves in the lift we were using (often without masks) despite our request for them not to cram in. Apparently, the main lift had been out-of-use for a considerable time. Our room looked tired and judging by the worn carpet in the corridor, the room was probably only used as an overspill when the hotel was busy. The bath was very small and I felt unsafe standing in the bath to take a shower. We had requested a room near to our friends but we were not even on the same floor.
