Superb

Liked: Rich, dark Seneca Coffee on the front porch at 6 am! Doors to Idlewood Inn, wide open, beautiful breeze, sunshine! We watched the sun rise over Seneca Lake at 6:10 am. Bonus, a beautiful doe and a buck in the velvet crossed the front lawn at sunrise, galloping to see their cousins up on the hill, The Elk!Lovely stay! Beautiful, clean, wonderful host! Great location! We visited Watkins Glen when we were there! It did not disappoint!We’d love to go back!

Gorgeous House & Grounds! Great...

Liked: Loved This Place! Stay Here!!! Property Owner/Host Marcus is wonderful! He upgraded our room upon arrival. Great and helpful information on Idlwilde Inn's website regarding house and grounds, Watkins Glen. Check it out before you book. Beyond charming property, delicious breakfast, coffee and tea available 24/7, within walking distance from town (it is on a hill, so anyone with impaired mobility would need to take a car), convenient parking.
Disliked: Wish it had been for more than one night!

Can't wait to come back....

Liked: The owners were great. Very nice people and always attentive to our needs. So much history in the beautiful home and very clean and lots to do. We will be back again.

I love being pampered.

Liked: I can’t wait to come back. This is a beautiful estate. Aesthetically, a”Feast for the Eyes.” Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfasts served both days were the best meals, I had on my entire NY trip. Marcus and Stella were the ultimate hosts.

Generally worth considering

Liked: The hosts were very nice and the breakfasts were terrific. The grounds are lovely.
Disliked: Stayed in the carriage house next door to the Inn and it had a very steep winding staircase to get into the room. Best for young people, which we weren't, but we made due. Also bed very soft - you have to like that. Floor in the room was also crooked because of age, so that may annoy some people. If I stayed there again, would want to be in the main building.
