Liked: I stayed at Ibis Wien Messe in mid-July and, as always, was very satisfied with my stay! My room was on the 6th floor. The hotel was pleasantly quiet, allowing for a peaceful and relaxing rest. The location is excellent it is easy and quick to get to the center of Vienna, with metro and public transport stops nearby. The main historical sights are just a few minutes away by public transport. I would especially like to mention the staff the hotel employees are very friendly, always ready to help and answer any questions. Breakfasts are delicious, and the overall atmosphere in the hotel is cozy and comfortable. Everything you need for a good stay is here.I will be happy to come back again and always recommend Ibis Wien Messe to anyone looking for a convenient place in a central area of Vienna!

The hotel is ideally located just a short walk from the Vienna International Centre and Messe Wien Convention Center, making it perfect for business travelers. It's also very close to the U-Bahn (metro), which made getting around the city quick and stress-free. The area has several casual dining spots and grocery options nearby, and the hotel itself is exactly what you'd expect from an ibis: clean, functional, and no-frills.One thing to note: the surrounding neighborhood includes a few adult entertainment venues and brothels, which might be surprising if you're not expecting it. That said, the area felt safe, and it didn’t impact my stay—just something to be aware of depending on your travel preferences or if you're with family.All in all, ibis Wien Messe offers great value and unbeatable access to the metro and convention center—just with a slightly colorful neighborhood vibe.
Disliked: The room at ibis Wien Messe is a study in restraint—like someone designed it with a PowerPoint template and a strict no-joy policy. My partner and I spent the stay intermittently playing “Is this hotel room nicer than a Finnish prison?” The game never got old. The answer? It depends on how much you value a window that opens versus decent bedding.Let’s talk about that bedding. The mattress had the give of compressed plywood, and the pillows were somewhere between decorative and tragic. If you enjoy the sensation of sleeping on a folded bath towel, you’re in for a treat.Décor-wise, the vibe is early 2000s airport lounge: laminate headboards, built-in furniture, and lighting that feels both industrial and emotionally distant. Functional? Yes. Inviting? Absolutely not. But at least everything was clean and worked as intended. There’s no minibar, no closet (just a hanging rack), and no frills—but also no unpleasant surprises. No surprises of any kind, really. The lobby staff maintained a consistent vibe of mild confusion and profound unhelpfulness—particularly when we asked about storing our bags after checking out, a request that was met with the kind of reluctant sigh usually reserved for jury duty or helping someone move a couch.

A decent hotel in a...

Liked: The hotel is in a nice location—just a short walk to the metro and about 10 minutes from the train station with direct access to the airport. The room wasn't something special, but clean, comfortable, and quiet.
Disliked: The windows lacked proper blackout curtains. Since I stayed in May, the early sunrise meant I was woken up by sunlight at 6:00 AM. I ended up buying a sleep mask for the rest of my stay.
