Ibis Styles must do better...

Liked: Proximity to the train station is perfect and we stay here several times a year. The beds are comfortable, but the facilities and rooms are a bit tired and were not as clean during our recent two visits as we’ve come to expect.
Disliked: The front desk reception was terrible on our most recent trip in early April. The young woman who checked us in at night was rude and didn’t communicate well in English, plus complained loudly in French about us to her colleague, which is unprofessional. A major concern for us was they put my elderly mother in a room six floors away from ours even though I booked both rooms at the same time through booking.com. The excuse the receptionist gave was that we had different last names, which of course we do as she is my mother, not my husband’s. Given the hotel was full, they could not move either of us to a closer room. Another issue is that they put us in twin bed rooms, which was our fault as we had inadvertently booked them that way, but the way the receptionist carried on, I expected my husband and I would be sleeping in beds on opposite sides of the room. The beds were actually pushed together, so I’m not sure why she made such an issue about it in the first place.
