Disappointed with the alternative accommodation we were offered. Very frustrating experience.

Disliked: Our stay at The Ibis was cancelled and we were offered an alternative hotel. Although this hotel was okay, 3 star Holiday Inn Extra at the Leigh Sports Village was not situated well for our visit. We were well over half an hours taxi drive from the concert we were attending, which was the reason for our stay. It was very expensive to make the added taxi trips. I tried many times in vain to contact Booking. Com customer service to try to speak to someone to request a nearer alternative replacement. I just kept being sent the same repeat confirmation reply until I eventually had to accept. I have used booking.com on many occasions, but unfortunately this one was a bad experience. We

A great stay on a weekday

Liked: We didn't stay at Ibis Styles, but were relocated to Mercure Haydock as Ibis was closed to holiday makers.Mercure Haydock was fantastic. Friendly staff, great comfortable rooms, beautiful surroundings and great location. Hotel was busy with business people, but quiet during the night. That will probably not be the case when a wedding is going on as the suites are right next door.Based on our stay, the stay was excellent.
