Superb

Liked: We slept better than at home! Even from the first night. The staff were among the friendliest I've ever experienced. We really liked that they were so diverse.The concern for the environment was excellent; the location and price just right for us; the room was smallish but well-laid out, easily navigable for two people. We liked the security features in the elevator, and that we could connect our computers to the large screen, using it as a monitor, e.g. to watch our choice of movies. The wi-fi was excellent, no problems at all with connection or bandwidth.It's a small detail, but we also liked that our room-carpet gave the exact geographical location of the hotel, down to the arc-minute of latitude and longitude. I can't say why, but that small detail made us feel...more settled, verortet, in our room. Generally the interior design had a nautical theme, which reminded us of Hamburg's long history of shipping.

Clean & comfortable hotel, close...

Liked: The hotel is clean and the rooms, although quite basic, were very clean and comfortable, with a big TV. The breakfast buffet was nice, with a large selection of food (Cereals, yogurts, fruits, juices, teas/coffees, breads & pastries, cheese, cold meats, bacon and scrambled eggs). The staff in the breakfast restaurant were lovely & very friendly & helpful. The hotel is close to Barmbek Station, so great for travellers arriving by either the S Bahn or U Bahn trains.
Disliked: Our hotel room was very hot and although we turned the thermostat off in the room, the room remained stiflingly hot. We opened the window, to find that our room overlooked a very busy railway track & so with the window open, we were disturbed by very loud train noise, even during the night. The Reception staff, were okay but not the best I have encountered.

Disliked: Spotty WiFi. I was unable to work because the WiFi kept going in and out. Not reliable at all!Also, one elevator was not working at all and the other one would not go to the 6th floor, where our room was. Did not appreciate the six flights of stairs when we wanted to go somewhere.
