ibis Styles Barnsley

First time at an Ibis hotel as the price at Premier Inn was ridiculous so decided to look elsewhere. I was really impressed with the whole hotel. Reception staff were lovely and really helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and I couldn’t have asked for more. Excellent value as well.

Liked: Clean and modern at a reasonable price.
Disliked: None.

Liked: Comfortable bed. Good reception staff.
Disliked: Room not cleaned during 5 night stay.

Liked: That it had a Toby Carvery next door which had reasonably priced food and drinks, with friendly staff and atmosphere.
Disliked: We arrived a little earlier than check in time as had travelled from a fair distance away for a funeral the next day. Tried to ask a couple of questions ie were we ok to park the car there and we would call into the Toby Carvery next door. Receptionist was rude and abrupt, told me she was busy and to come back after check in time. Hotel room had laminate flooring that looked at least 20 years old? In the evening it appeared the receptionist ( a different one/ second shift) was covering all positions, reception, bar, serving food.

Liked: Situated just off M1 with ample parking and a friendly staff team. Breakfast is extra but excellent so definitely worth giving it a try.
Disliked: Nothing

Great place to stay

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful at this hotel. The location was great for motorway links, getting into Barnsley town, and lovely surrounding areas to explore. The hotel was spacious with large communal areas, and a hydration station available in the bar area. My room was clean, a good size and had a private, leafy view. The bathroom was supplied with nice toiletries and the shower was very good.
Disliked: The Wifi was not secure (password protected), so that was a slight issue when I needed to work for a few hours, but I’ll know to check this next time.
