Liked: Not bad room size, good space of room use with shower, sink and toilet equally the bed was comfortable.
Disliked: The hotel Ibis confusingly named Ibis Lyon even though it is situated in Meyzieu which is on the outskirts of Lyon, was very disappointing . The staff was nice in the beginning, speaking English and seemingly helpful. The ceiling outside our room was leaking and the air conditioning didn’t work. The large bed was comfortable although the pillows made an uncomfortable nights sleep resulting to neck stiffness in the morning. The pillow was so soft it was like a light feathered duvet. On the second day the card/key didn’t work. I notified the staff and they gave me a new card. That one didn’t work. I knocked on the door and my wife let me in. The day after I told them the key still wasn’t working, they assured me this time the key would work. It didn’t. I went back down and they followed me to open the door with their master key. They now realized the battery in the door needed replacement and said they couldn’t do anything but a technician would replace it first thing in the morning, then checked and said they would get tools and try to replace it. They didn’t come back. In the morning we spoke to the staff member that had taken over and she said she couldn’t do anything except give us a new room. We asked if they could do anything to make up for the inconvenience. They said the only thing they could offer was free breakfast. The breakfast wasn’t good, even though Lyon is considered the world capital of gastronomy. We asked if we would be able to come back and sit in the lobby on the day our flight leaves. The said no problem, but when we came back the new staff member was cleaning and said we can’t stay. On leaving the hotel there was a cockroach on the lobby floor he just cleaned. It’s was not a good experience or stay overall!

Liked: The room is spacious enough for 2 people. The water pressure in the bathroom is very good and you have the basic things provided for hygiene. The WiFi is good as well. Short walk to public transport.
Disliked: The pillows were too soft for my taste. The breakfast is basic but qualitative, even though they should add bigger plates. They give you tiny plates to make sure you dont overfill yours, but obviously you can get more plates at once.A bit too far from city center.
