As expected and as needed
Liked: Nice clean comfortable room, just as you would expect. Good buffet breakfast available in the morning and staff were very friendly and helpful
Disliked: I could not for the life of me work out the car park - how to get in it. I ended up driving around the hotel 3 times looking for it, checking here that it actually existed, and ended up just giving up and parking my car in a multi story a short walk away

Staying at this hotel was...
Liked: My son had an early appointment at The Royal Marsden Hospital. The hotel was well located in the town and reasonably easy to find. It was handy for the station had we chosen to travel by train and a variety of places to eat were within easy access. The hospital itself was a short distance away. Unfortunately we did not have time to sample the breakfast, but the dining area looked really nice. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful and helped me with the parking setup, which wasn’t easy.
Disliked: The parking situation turned out to be a bit of a nightmare, which was a shame. The Ibis website warned of limited parking, which was the case. The signage directing guests to the hotel reception was very sparse. The shutter at the entrance to the underground section was down with no obvious instructions for raising it. There were no signs, as far as I am aware, to indicate the spaces allocated to the Ibis hotel. Most of the spaces were only wide enough for the original Mini cars or motorbikes as large structural posts took up some of the space within the parking slot. I needed a disabled space because my son has cancer and limited energy levels. I found the painted signage on the ground confusing at first as not only was there a disabled sign, but an electric vehicle charging point sign as well. After we had parked, we checked in at reception and a friendly and helpful member of staff came out to the car park and helped me pay the parking fee. Even with a disabled Blue Badge, I had to pay at least £15. I am used to free parking for disabled people! I wasn’t given an option less than 24 hours. I have since looked up Horizon Parking on my computer and the complaints against this company are endless. There are so many people who have had negative experiences. I would agree with the comments and describe the parking situation as a bit of a ‘ripoff’. A real shame.
