Do not stay if you...
Liked: One of the more affordable hotels during the week (100€ pn), have not booked on weekends before because it tends to be twice as expensive then and that is vastly too expensive for what you get. Reception staff are nice
Disliked: Almost unforgivable: The guy doing housekeeping on floor 3 rushed through all corridors banging on doors only of occupied rooms shouting “house cleaning” at 8:30 in the morning, not waiting for a reply just rushing off to wake up the next person. He banged on all rooms with or without DND tag, and you could hear him coming from 3 doors down, I thought there was an emergency. This ruined the morning of our group. After being ripped from our sleep that was meant to last until 11:00 after a late night (checkout is at 12:00, breakfast until 10:00 if you fancy paying 17€), I thought something was wrong and got hastily dressed to open the door but he was already down the next hall to ruin other guests’ days. This is not acceptable. If you cherish your sleep and don’t wish to be awaken by some guy who wants to finish his shift early, do not stay here. The reception staff, while nice, first asked if we had put the sign on our door, which we had, thereby suggesting that not hanging it out is an invitation to be rudely awakened at 8:30. They then proffered he may have had a bad day. Well, if this is how he deals with a bad day, by ruining others’, then he should not work around paying guests. Our group was furious and we cancelled other bookings we had for the hotel because we booked this literally only to sleep here and that is what we didnt get here. What didn’t bother me as such but may be relevant for others: rooms are microscopic (you should know the person you are sharing with very well), the bathroom is so small that anyone over 1,90 might end up sitting sideways on the toilet (there is a slant in the wall cutting off leg space), the tiny shower needs stepping into and generally not as suitable for anyone who has any mobility issues, is of larger size or wrestling children. If you think you don’t normally need an accessible room and can usually make do without, opt for accessible here.
