Great location, nice room, and...

Liked: The location by the Royal Mile was great. The room was basic but fine, the paid breakfast was good. Any questions or concerns I had were immediately answered or taken care of(coffee packets, toilet paper). Staff was extremely responsive and helpful.

Liked: The hotel is perfectly central for any time of the year but especially for the Edinburgh Fringe.The rooms are clean, slightly dated, but good for a couple of nights. I was quite high up and also at the end of a corridor so it was all very quiet. The staff is helpful and polite, they have storage space for luggage, and a bar and restaurant (I didn't use it this time).
Disliked: The mattress REALLY needs upgrades as it was lumpy and uncomfortable.
