ibis Edinburgh Centre Royal Mile - Hunter Square

Excellent location, clean but lacking...

Liked: location was excellent and it was very clean. Reception staff were very friendly, but sometimes seemed overworked, always very polite and helpful though.
Disliked: Was on the top floor and view was a white wall, disappointed with that as I'm sure the view would have been wonderful. I was expecting there to be more food available at the hotel, but I do appreciate that as the location was so central most people would eat out. The meeting area, where you sat / could have drinks felt like a small canteen - rather uninviting, would have been much nicer to have a bar like feel. Pretty much no storage room in the bedroom and room was extremely small.

3-star hotel experience, central location...

Liked: The location was central and close to popular restaurants and lively entertainment. Helpful, friendly staff.
Disliked: We spent two weeks traveling across the country. I felt this hotel was overpriced. We spent less to stay at a historic castle property. I expected more of a boutique experience for the rate charged.

Liked: Breakfast was nice, but I would expect some more changes in the food spectrum....( I have stayed all together in two Ibis hotels 10 nights and the food was same all the time).The hotel is in the real centre, so you do not need any public transport.

Would highly recommend this hotel....

Liked: Hotel is located right next to the Royal Mile. Everything was within walking distance. Breakfast was very good and a good deal. Room was all we needed. Only a 10 minute walk from the Edinburgh Tram stop (transportation used from airport).
Disliked: Only negative was the lack of AC, but that wasn't every night.

Secure hotel for single travellers...

Liked: Central location. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Felt secure.
Disliked: Bathroom sink was dirty on arrival. Bathroom door was on a strong rebound which meant you couldn’t leave it open when you were listening to the news on TV when getting ready in the morning.
