Adequate location for a short...

Liked: Stayed for an extended period of time in two different city view rooms. Rooms were identically finished, with minimalist modern furnishings and a king size bed.
Disliked: Rooms were standard small size for NYC. It is important to note the bathroom was NOT a seperate room. The bathroom was amalgamated into the bedroom. Resulting in little to no privacy or peace for all room occupants. The bed linen, quilt and pillows were very basic quality. The bathroom towels were also very basic quality. Would not recommend this room to anyone who values privacy or peacefulness. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation, resulting in a temporary reception area at the rear of the building, accessible via a side entrance. This temporary area is dimly lit, with some furniture. Whilst in construction mode, the hotel does not have a viable or attractive foyer, lounge area to meet people or spend time there. There is no where attractive or comfortable to sit in this hotel.

Disliked: Took awhile for the room to be ready was not offered anything not even water. Supposed to have free breakfast was offered only $50.00 so very misleading.

Disliked: Bed lumpy. Soft pillow hidden behind hard pillow. Shower walls 6-8” up from shower floor discolored.

Renovation work ongoing!!

Liked: Rooms were ok and clean. I had chosen this hotel only because of the proximity to the venue Irving Plaza.
Disliked: Major renovation work taking place on the ground floor, surely the hotel must be transparant with this and put this info on Booking.com. Having to enter the hotel through a small side entrance. Only to end up in a small dark hole ("lobby area") with a couple of staff members there. It is odd to think that the hotel finda this is acceptable for guests paying $ 400 per night without a communication about it upfront. Also really missed a minibar/fridge in the room. Price versus quality is not balanced.

Liked: Location is perfect. The staff is awesome. The rooms are clean, large enough, and very comfortable. I come to NYC every 2 weeks. I do not stay anywhere else. They are upgrading their physical facilities which will make it better yet. Attached is the Bowery Restaurant. Breakfast is outstanding. Ask for Shelly and Jimmy. Do NOT miss the French Toast.
