My stay was overall quite...
Liked: Temperature in room was nice and being able to adjust it accurately was nice as well. Bed was very clean and quite comfortable,
Disliked: Towels were exceptionally scratchy...not soft and comfy as I expected Hyatt Riverwalk towels to be. Additionally, the tub drain was closed when I started the water for a shower...after turning to sink for a minute almost flooded bathroom. Also tub drain was apparently broken. The Hyatt shouldn't be the type of hotel that attaches its shampoo, conditioner and body wash to the wall in the shower. That alone screams sketchy & cheap. There was no pen or notepad in room. Front desk said it was because of Covid and yet there was a small bottle of body lotion on the tray by sink in bath, the room key, the telephone and a number of door handles that all required human touching...so I don't buy the Covid excuse. If that iwas a cost saving measure then it is an epic fail as the no matter how nice the beds were or how well I slept, all I remember is the no pen and notepad in the room, the scratchy towels and the faulty tub drain! The breakfast this morning was very interesting. First, there was an obvious staff shortage and the reason for that is well known...people make more money staying home on Covid extended unemployment than they do working their jobs! I believe that our breakfast was served by a manager as he was dressed in a sportcoat and possibly a tie. The price of the American breakfast was $16.00. A bit excessive for two eggs, bacon, very few potatoes and a piece of toast with jam...not to mention $5.00 for a cup of coffee. In a different econpomic climate this may be ok. However in the way this country looks now it is my opinion that you will not be able to get away with this for much longer, at least not without a ton of complaints. After paying $259.00 for a double room for one night and parking the car via your valet service for $49.00 I was charged an additional $54.20 in various taxes. This doesn't include the $50.82 I paid for breakfast for two of two American breakfasts, coffee and a Diet Pepsi! Shame on you!
