Disliked: recently stayed at the Hyatt in St. Augustine near Vilano Beach for a three-night visit, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired — particularly due to the rude and unprofessional behavior we encountered at check-in.My husband and I checked and our family checked together on the first night. He provided his valid driver’s license and bank card without issue. Everything seemed fine initially, The people at the front desk were surprisingly cold and dismissive from the start. Rather than feeling welcomed, we were met with an unhelpful and condescending tone, which set a disappointing tone for our stay and instead of her manager helping he made excuses for the horrible way she had spoken to me and made me feel like I had done something wrong. We have stayed in many Hotels throughout the years and never have I ever came across anything like this attitude unfortunate, because the location is beautiful, and the property itself is comfortable . However, customer service is just as important as amenities — and in this case, it was severely lacking.I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works with their staff on professionalism and hospitality. Guests deserve to be treated with respect, not made to feel like a burden.

This place is magic!

Liked: We adore Vilano beach, and this was our first time to stay at Hyatt Place rather than our usual spot. I chose it because it included breakfast and other hotel amenities, as it was a holiday weekend. Even though it is set a smidge off the beach (a five minute walk, tops), the golf cart shuttle was always available, the proximity to Publix and the handful of restaurants was perfect, and we barely noticed not being right on the ocean. The hotel appears brand new, and the entire staff, from valet to front desk to housekeeping, catered to every single need we had. We were happy with the size of the room, and the housekeeping staff stayed on top of keeping our room spotless. They even cleaned it twice in one day because we accidentally dumped sand all over our clean floor from our beach cooler. And even though we had to valet every day because of limited parking, the valets were fantastic, and we got spoiled by walking out and having access to our car within five minutes without having to deal with the crowds.The breakfast is great, the beds are comfortable, the room was quiet even though it was a packed-out hotel, and I felt like I was in paradise for the week that we stayed!
