The Spotlight on Hyatt Place Greensboro / Downtown

Modern Comfort Right in the Heart of Greensboro

Hyatt Place Greensboro / Downtown is a modern, centrally located hotel that’s perfect for concert-goers wanting to stay close to the action. With spacious, air-conditioned rooms, a seasonal outdoor pool, fitness center, and free WiFi, the hotel delivers both comfort and convenience. Set in downtown Greensboro, it's within easy reach of local music venues, dining, and nightlife.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel’s downtown location means you’re just minutes from Greensboro’s top music venues—no need to worry about long rides after the encore. The 24-hour front desk is a bonus for late-night arrivals, and the on-site bar and shared lounge offer a relaxed space to wind down post-show. Despite its central location, guests often mention the hotel as a peaceful spot to recharge after a night out.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a lively weekend base
- Solo travelers catching a dream concert
- Couples planning a downtown getaway
- Fans wanting a quiet, comfy place to crash
- Budget-conscious music lovers wanting value without sacrificing style

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant serves up American cuisine with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the bar and lounge are great for late-night bites and drinks. Breakfast is available—perfect for those who sleep in after a late show. Plus, being downtown means you’re within walking distance of casual eats and late-night spots.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel doesn't offer live music on-site, its downtown location puts you steps from bars, lounges, and music clubs. Whether you're looking for a low-key drink at the hotel bar or a high-energy dance floor nearby, you've got options within walking distance.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the hotel’s location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. Many reviewers highlight how easy it was to walk to nearby venues and restaurants. Others love the modern feel of the rooms and the bonus of an outdoor pool for a refreshing dip before heading out.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that parking comes at an extra cost, and while most rooms are quiet, light sleepers should request a room away from the street. Also, while the bar is cozy, it’s more of a relaxed scene than a lively pre-show hangout.

The Bottom Line

Hyatt Place Greensboro / Downtown hits the sweet spot for concert-goers—central, stylish, and surprisingly serene for a downtown stay.

The pool was nice.

Liked: Breakfast could have been a little better. Scrambled eggs tasted gross and the coffee was weak. The bagels were hard. I think the quality of the breakfast could have been better overall.

Weekend in Greensboro

Liked: ⭐ 4 out of 5 stars — Great weekend stay at Hyatt Place Greensboro DowntownI stayed one night for a weekend trip with my son. We took the train from Raleigh and visited the International Civil Rights Museum, which was within walking distance from both the Amtrak station and the hotel — very convenient! The hotel also sits right beside the baseball field, and from the second floor you can walk out and enjoy a beautiful view of the stadium and pool area. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. My room was spacious and comfortable — I really appreciated having so much space to relax. The staff were friendly, professional, and responsive throughout our stay. One nice feature was that they offered food service throughout much of the day and evening, up until 11 PM. However, I would have preferred if we could have ordered from the room instead of having to go downstairs to place the order and pick it up, since there was no room service.Breakfast was included and pretty good overall. They offered a variety of teas, coffee, and standard continental options. The only downside was the eggs — they were powdered and a bit too liquidy for my taste, but everything else was fresh and satisfying. The location is great for both business travelers and families. I'm not sure about their pet policy, but public transportation is easily accessible nearby. My only other minor complaint was that there was no shelf or storage space in the bathroom for personal belongings.Overall, it was a clean, comfortable stay with great service and a very convenient location. I would definitely stay again — especially if you’re traveling by train or car and want to be close to downtown activities.

Good

Liked: Great location, friendly staff.
Disliked: Really disappointed because I was counting on breakfast being ready at 7:00. I had to have my son at a track meet and had to leave by 7:15 to get my son to a track meat. Nothing was out except for cold bagels. There wasn’t even hot water for the oatmeal cups. Had I known the stated time was when staff arrives to start making, not serving, breakfast, I could have planned to go elsewhere to get food before his athletic event. We planned around eating there so it really was a pretty huge let down. Also, inside the cabinets were very dusty and the bathroom doors in the king suite were both messed up. The sliding door was very hard to open and the other door was so heavy it slammed shut very loudly.

Very nice stay, within a...

Liked: The breakfast was a good setup. Other than the change of daily choices, overall it was good.Love seeing the baseball atmosphere. Especially when there are fireworks.
Disliked: Sigh, the bathroom door is a barn door. That was very unpleasant. It was difficult to move and keep on the track. Once you were in the door, it was a terrible struggle to get out! We had to lean the door forward, off the track, to make sure we did not have to deal with the struggle. No microwave! That was unusual to not have in a hotel room. That was a dissapointment. The sink did not hold water when the plunger was down and the water did not drain fast enough, leaving residue when you're finish. Very backwards. Water on the sink runs off to the right, as if it was on a slope. You notice water damage from over a period of time.

Liked: Breakfast was very bland. I’ve had much better at lesser places.
Disliked: Room was outdated. Carpet torn. Tile in shower dingy TV signal went out every rainstorm. Multiple times over two night stay
