Hyatt Place Chicago/Downtown - The Loop

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Easy to access from the interstate; lovely staff; great rooms; a clean, warm pool, and a nice area on the first floor for snacks/drinks. I will stay here again!

Liked: The service there was impeccable. Friendly, helpful staff. Amenities were clean and as promised.

Uncomfortable for us because the...

Liked: Location
Disliked: The fold out bed didn’t have enough room to “fold out”. I booked this room because my 13 year old grandson needed a bed in my room. The bed opened up overlapping our bed. I’m including a picture.

Disliked: We didn't have water to take a shower when we got there to get ready for our dinner reservation until about 530. The pool closed way to early at 8pm

Disappointing Stay in the Loop

Liked: The bed was comfortable
Disliked: I didn't like the couch in the room, it seemed used and not very clean. I felt that the hotel location is in an isolated area. As a single older woman, I was not comfortable with my safety leaving the hotel at night. Also, they lock the doors at 11 pm which was a concern. There are no restaurants close by that are open on the weekends either. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. And I certainly will not be back.

Liked: Staff was very friendly and accommodating
Disliked: Parking not included, parked right across the street in a parking garage. Was there from 6 pm to about 9 am and that was 63 dollars. Also, at one point our one year old daughter spilled water and when we soaked it up with one of their white towels it turned brown from the floor.

Noisy water heater room 1205

Liked: The location was central. The breakfast was good, but in my opinion should have been included in room charge.Over $1,400 dollars for 4 nights is a bit on the high side.
Disliked: We spent two nights that I couldn't sleep, because the water heater in the wall was making excessive noise whenever it turned on. On the third of four days there I finally went down to reservation and requested a room change. Yes, we had to pack all our belongings and move rooms, but finally I had a good nights sleep. Room 1205 had the noisy water heater, so either fix it or don't rent it.
