Hyatt Place Chicago Schaumburg

Overall a great hotel for a great price. Room was very spacious - included a mini fridge; desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the maid staff was very loud in the hallway in the morning when we were still trying to sleep.

Disliked: Checked in around 8pm on Monday after traveling all day from Europe with my son and asked about restaurant. Girl who checked us in said there is no restaurant or room service. Came down at 2am to grab soda to notice there in fact was a small bar and it was called the Placery, which was also advertised in our room. Guy who sold me soda said that it should stay open until 10 and they serve pizza and a couple of other things. Obviously girl who checked us in lied directly to my face…. I chose this hotel because it advertised restaurant on site and I knew we would need to eat after traveling all day. Very disappointed

Disliked: There was a dry blood stain on our blankets on the bed. And there was water leaking from the sink for the bathroom. It should be fixed right away as it dripped water until it started dripping onto the floor. When I arrived to the room there was a puddle of water around the sink by the bathroom. What killed it was the blood stain. Looks like the washer did not do much of a good job of cleaning that off.

Now I have to go through a difficult process to dispute the charge- No room service was provided- Lobby restroom - Absolutely disgusting. Not possible to even step inside the restroom- Lobby coffee machine broken. No staff to attend- Room window was cracked, and sinks were totally clogged

Disliked: The way I was treated and rushed with everything from the moment of check and then on to trying to buy something to eat I just felt rushed and pushed away. My wife and I just did not like the way we were treated. We normally come to this Hotel very often. It’s sad that I have to look for another hotel to normally go to when we decide to stay the night out from home. I had other good experiences but this one just sucked.
