Hyatt Place Charleston/Historic District

Do not stay in room 631 on the 6th floor - the fumes out of the shower smell like sulfur.

Disliked: Room 631 - smelled badly of sulfur coming from the bathroom.

Be sure to request a room on the side where there is no construction. Other than that it was a great location and a very nice place. Once construction around there is done I would love to come back.

Liked: Staff was friendly and place was clean.
Disliked: Was awakened at 7:30am by heavy construction - literally pounding steel.

Disliked: Absolutely filthy! Wallpaper coming off the walls. Hair all over the bathroom which wasn’t mine. Smelled disgusting.

Liked: Overall the hotel is in a great location off of King St but it is also hard to find. Kind of cool but annoying for Ubers. The lobby is nice and well laid out. The room was a great size.
Disliked: The hotel is going through a lot of renovations so areas are restricted or cut off. They were actively painting hallways near the gym with no signage or warning. I walked into a painting crew when I turned a corner. No warning. Our room was incredible outdated and gross. The air vents were caked in dust and debris. Beds were not comfortable and the towels had a musty smell to them.

Liked: We had two very good people helping us at the front desk, Naquan and Darnell. I also got exceptional help from the maintenance person who was super courteous but I don’t recall his name.

Nice hotel, great location for...

Liked: Room was spacious and clean. Room was quiet.Breakfast was nice. Close to all downtown sites.
Disliked: Water pressure in shower too much.Price of valet parking

Liked: The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also very spacious.
Disliked: The pillows, they were terrible. It did prevent from a good nights sleep always flipping them.

Disliked: Completely satisfied. Will recommend to Charleston visitors Not Hyatt's fault but getting there on a night 1/2 of King street was blocked was a challenge. We called Valet who guided us in. Tipped them
