Hyatt Place Charleston/Historic District

Do not stay in room 631 on the 6th floor - the fumes out of the shower smell like sulfur.

Disliked: Room 631 - smelled badly of sulfur coming from the bathroom.

Be sure to request a room on the side where there is no construction. Other than that it was a great location and a very nice place. Once construction around there is done I would love to come back.

Liked: Staff was friendly and place was clean.
Disliked: Was awakened at 7:30am by heavy construction - literally pounding steel.

Always convenient and reliable, but...

Liked: Love the location and free breakfast
Disliked: It is starting to show its age, wear and tear is evident. On this trip one of the elevators was out of service, the pre parking payment machine wasn’t working either

Only stayed one night. Arrived...

Liked: Breakfast was great.
Disliked: Room was next to stairwell door so it was noisy when opened/closed by hotel guests.

A perfect two night stay...

Liked: Location, friendly staff, very clean rooms

Liked: Very friendly, large room, nice appetizer hour.
Disliked: As we had never been to Charleston, we thought this hotel would be closer to the main area of the historic district. Our room had an odd smell

Disliked: Would have like a restaurant available during the day/Eve besides pour.

Decent for the price

Liked: Good location if you like a good stroll, which we do. Quiet and beds were comfortable.
Disliked: Breakfast was disappointing in that items were not available, biscuits but gravy was empty, no milk for cereal. Fan in the bathroom did not work and the door did not shut properly. One lift was out of order so quite a long wait.
