Great for what it's intentions...
Liked: Area felt secluded from LA, has a Dunkin, chipotle, and a poke place attached. Felt very secure and clean. There is a key card required to use the elevators as well as the doors to get back inside the building. The kitchenette even has glass Tupperware. The beds aren't uncomfortable and the couch is even comfy. Pillows were wonderful. The cleaning staff is very good at what they do and they don't bother you every morning for house keeping. Only on the 3rd day unless otherwise asked for. Note this is part of a medical facility/university so that's what you're surrounded with. It's nice and we felt comfortable. If you or a loved one is having something done on the premise medically then it's a perfectly acceptable place to stay while doing so and you will feel taken care of while also not being bothered. The wifi is fast and they have a sort of streaming cable to watch as well as casting options on the TVs. The pool seemed well maintained and the whole building was as well.
Disliked: The staff besides the early morning staff is either underwhelmed or understaffed (they had 1 girl manning front and essentially doing all the tasks for the 4 floors calling down one night). She was lovely but the rest of the staff seem to feel weird if you try civil niceties with them. They just don't engage in conversation. They do NOT have valet parking, it's just premier parking you pay more for to park by the front doors instead of a parking garage diagonally across the street. When we checked in the girl wasn't rude but she was not welcoming either, she didn't even offer this parking option to me. I had to mention we had a disabled driver and I knew we could have an option of parking near the entrance. She proceeded to tell me the parking garage has evelators. I was not making my driver walk with her cane all the way over from another building. She then tells me "okay but it costs more". Yes I understand that? You have my card right there in your system? That felt oddly judgemental although I don't know if that was her intention. Most of the staff you deal with are young and at the risk of sounding like a boomer they all have that Gen z stare. When we requested more pillows they were just pushed into my face with no words and when I said have a nice night there no was no reply. The toilet clogged. Other reviews here and elsewhere will tell you this is common here. The maintenance man had to be called twice as we waited almost an hour and the front desk apparently thought he had already came and fixed it for us when we called again. He showed up and was a very sweet man, but somehow cracked our toilet. So we had to change rooms. That process was fairly easy I suppose and I'm thankful they did so without any questions or charge.
